Das Wasserschloss Europas im Wandel
Basierend auf Schweizer Zeitungsartikeln der letzten 100 Jahre wurde untersucht, in welchen wasserwirtschaftlichen Kontexten die Metapher „Wasserschloss Europas“ verwendet wurde und wie sich das zugrunde liegende Narrativ im Laufe der Zeit verändert hat. Dabei diente die Metapher einerseits als Symbol für den Wasserreichtum des Landes, andererseits unterstrich sie die Rolle der Schweiz im Umweltschutz und ihre Verantwortung gegenüber den Unterliegern; zudem wurde sie für die touristische Vermarktung der Naturlandschaft genutzt. Lange Zeit galt der Wasserreichtum in der Schweiz als selbstverständlich. Angesichts der rasanten Klimaerwärmung und des steigenden Nutzungsdrucks auf die Ressource Wasser sowie die aquatischen Lebensräume erscheint die Verwendung dieser beschaulichen Metapher heute überholt.

Eurokarst is the European biennial conference on the hydrogeology of karst and carbonate reservoirs. It provides an international forum for professional exchange and scientific discussion among practitioners, researchers, and academics. The conference also hosts the meeting of the Karst Commission of the International Association of Hydrogeology.
